One reason why youโre not getting started with that bright new idea of yours:
Youโre setting the bar too high.
Any time I made the decision to start something new, I would overwhelm myself by thinking too much about the
I would catch myself thinking about what could go wrong, how much time it would take, and whether all the effort would be worth it.
That was until I learned the power of
This means taking baby steps. Learning as you go. Living in the moment.
Something I didnโt expect was that I didnโt need to do a lot to become focused and motivated in whatever I chose to do.
The underlying lesson: aim ๐๐๐๐, but set the bar ๐๐ข๐ช.
How could this work for you?
If reading for 60 minutes seems too long, aim to read just 3 pages.
If a 45-minute burst of exercise seems too intense, try it for just 5 minutes.
If cooking meals seems too much of an ask, try it just once, using an easy recipe.
Are you getting the idea?
By setting the bar low for success, you have compressed the time it takes for you to feel good about yourself.
And when you feel good, you naturally want to do MORE of it.
How could you start small with that bright idea of yours?
